Steve Hewson

Steve started out circuit racing on 2-stroke motorbikes in the late 80s but he has done the maths and assures us he must only have been around 3 years old at the time! He graduated to four wheels in the mid 90s and became one of the original track-dayers in a succession of Peugeots and later a 300bhp Westfield.

After almost 20 years in the track day world Steve finally got round to racing in 2014 and has competed in cars as diverse as Citroen C1, Porsche Cayman, E36 BMW, and his beloved supercharged Peugeot 106. He has taken over 70 podiums including overall and class wins with 750 Motor Club, MSVR and BRSCC, and the overall championship win in the inaugural 750 Club Enduro Championship.

Steve’s instructing career started around 20 years ago, working for various trackday companies, race teams and manufacturers, he has been a staff instructor at Oulton and Cadwell Park as well as running some of his own trackdays and drift events. Steve has held a grade A ARDS Instructor licence for over 10 years and still works with organisers on UK and European circuits as well as coaching and running cars for private clients.

Whilst you'll see Max and Steve on the majority of our days, we have a large roster of coaches including Hadley Simpson and Maurice Henry, drivers in Max's Britcar Trophy Championship Winning Race Team.
